My apologies for the lateness of this post... didn't realize I hadn't put the February Stamp of the Month info here on the blog until a customer asked about it! So sorry!

The February Stamp of the Month is the "Birthday" clear set from Impression Obsession used on the cards shown below. And as a special treat this month, we're having a CONTEST! Purchase the “Birthday” Stamp Set of the Month, and create a card or other paper-craftedproject using the stamp set. Then showus your work either by stopping by the store with your creation, or emailing totammy.toyrifix@gmail.com. All participants will be entered into adrawing to win a half dozen delectable cupcakes from TheFaithful Little Cupcake bakery in downtown Wooster!

This card is sample of the Nestabilities "Outside-the-Box" technique. See how the shopping bag on the right side is outside the die-cut? We won't be making this particular card in the class, but this gives you an idea of the technique we'll learn!

This card is an example of two different embossing techniques we'll do in the class, using Nestabilities dies and Cuttlebug embossing folders!

Clear rhinestones will be available for optional purchase, and you may use Copics here at the store to color them to match your ornament. (To eliminate the hassle of having to leave the store with wet glue still on your ornament, we will not be applying the rhinestones... you'll want to finish your topper at home.)

Holiday Shaker Cards Class

We had a GREAT time at the Holiday Shaker Cards Class at the store on Tuesday evening! Below are the cards we made, with some descriptions! And please read all the way down for some additional information!

This card uses the "Vintage Postcard" stamp set from Flourishes (currently in stock at the store!), and was highly inspired by this design from my good friend, and Flourishes Sr. Design Team member Danielle Kennedy. (It was copied with her permission!) :) As you can see, we cut out a "frame" for the image inside, and with a layer of acetate and some chunky glass glitter and microbeads, we created this beautiful Christmas Shaker card!

And the pumpkin card below was inspired by the shaker card tutorial on Splitcoaststampers. We used some new Bella Blvd. papers for the design, and added some clear microbeads inside the pumpkin frame to create the shaker!

NOW, if you missed out on this class and would be interested in another one I am considering having it again! However, instead of the pumpkin, we'll be using the Nestabilities Ornaments dies shown below (since Fall is nearing it's end!) On Thursday, October 13th, two 12x12 plastic cases containing numerous pieces of designer paper and cardstock were found lying in the parking lot over nearBuchanan Place. They are still here at Toyrifix, waiting for their owner to retrace their steps and come back to claim them! These pictures show some of the papers and projects that are in the cases. Lost paper cases.....

Last Thursday, over near Buchanan Place, two large plastic cases, approximately 12 x 12 in size were found lying in the parking lot. Both cases contain card making supplies, and a few finished cards. The suspicion is that someone may have put these on the roof of their car and drove off, forgetting they were there? If you lost your cases, contact Toyrifix! We have them here! Also, stampers please spread the word about this among your friends! My heart breaks for whoever these belong to... I know she's got to be upset to have lost these! Someone MUST know someone who will say "hey, those belong to my friend!" or something!

We have a new line of stamps at the store! This is a Germany-based company called La Blanche, and they have some really beautiful images, as you can see below. These stamps are a little different... they are foam-block stamps with white silicone rubber. I was initially turned off by this style of stamp but I have used a few of them and they do stamp easily and leave a very clean impression. And the foam (as opposed to wood-block) makes for a more economical price! Give them a try and see what you think! We're starting out with the following images, and will order more if the demand is there!

Not familiar with Kitchen Sink Stamps images, or how they work? Take a look at these samples. These are all designs created by Julie Masse (Kitchen Sink Stamps designer and director of Stamping Around) and Tammy Hershberger (former Kitchen Sink Stamps designer and manager at Toyrifix).

This card was created by Julie using the Multi-Step Berries stamp set. Check out the details on those berries,leaves and flowers. NONE of this is colored with markers... this is all multiple layers of ink, applied in varying shades and degrees! Don't they look good enough to eat?

Here's a card created by Tammy with the Multi-Step Lilacs stamp set. Again, no coloring here... this is all multiple layers of varying shades of purple ink on the lilacs! They look so real you can almost smell the aroma, can't you?
Here's a Spring beauty from Julie with the Multi-Step Hibiscus! More layers of beautiful inks, and some great masking, too!
Who wouldn't LOVE a pair of pink cowgirl boots? Isn't Julie's card darling? No need for markers here, just layers of ink to create these adorable boots! See below for a close-up!

How about this beautiful rose? Even with markers, it's difficult to achieve the depth you see in this flower! But again, all that's used here on Julie's card are inks stamped in varying layers!
Cheers to a gorgeous card! This almost looks like a photograph, don't you think?
Tulips are a favorite of mine, so this stamp set gets a work out! Create a beautiful, life-like Spring garden with these stamps!
School is almost out... here's an apple for the teacher that looks good enough to eat!
Perfect for Father's Day... this multi-step stamped pocket watch, again as gorgeous as a real photograph!
